This desperate act by United 5 is exactly who they are. At the last board meeting, Steve Rasnik—who is currently being sued for over $900,000 for fraud inside Bell Canyon—started to bring up my ex-wife on an open mic. He stopped himself because he knew it would be defamation.
Dear Bell Canyon Community,
It’s disappointing to see that United 5 and their supporters—including former HOA President and Fire Chief Eric Wolf, as well as Lisa Ricomini, wife of Fire Chief Garrett Clancy—would stoop to such tactics. The “Betty” email is defamatory and has been turned over to a forensic IT professional to identify its origin.
Over two decades ago, my ex-wife made a false report against me out of desperation. It was immediately dismissed due to its complete lack of merit.
What’s more alarming is that the BCVWFD has failed to address any of the serious facts I presented to the community. Their leadership poses a significant financial risk to residents, and they lack sufficient insurance coverage. Their exempt license plates were revoked, and they no longer have access to hydrants after Ventura County intervened and threatened legal action.
Additionally, $74,000 was collected from residents for a shed that leadership—including Eric Wolf, Lisa Ricomini, Garrett Clancy, Richard Levy, and others—knew could never be built. The shed violated both our CC&Rs and was denied twice by Ventura County. Where is that money now? In my opinion, this constitutes fraud. The facts are there for everyone to see.
Let me be clear: I deeply respect and appreciate our volunteers. This is not about them—it’s about the leadership that has repeatedly failed them and this community.
There are also serious ethical concerns. Former Fire Chief Eric Wolf was the subject of a sexual harassment complaint from a community member. He claimed the incident involved him urinating, which the woman witnessed. His allies on the board refused to investigate. Now, United 5 is shielding this same individual while vowing to cancel lawsuits that could bring accountability. That should concern all of us.
As for “Betty,” I’ve invited this person—if they even exist—to come forward. My videos are real, transparent, and honest. That’s why the BCVWFD leadership hasn’t responded to any of the points I raised.
How can we trust someone willing to use these tactics?
The “Betty” email was filled with lies and misinformation. The timing is no coincidence. Speaking out takes courage. Hiding behind fake names does not.
Vote NO. It’s the only choice that protects the future of Bell Canyon.
Sincerely,
Sean Wagmeister
