Many in our community already know that HOA and CSD funds were spent at restaurants far more often than what most would consider appropriate. But what many may not know is that the previous HOA board was also using a service called CFK PeopleFinders — and paying for it with HOA funds.

So what is CFK PeopleFinders?

CFK PeopleFinders is an online service that allows users to search for and gather personal information about individuals — including addresses, phone numbers, relatives, and even background checks. It’s often used in investigations, skip tracing, and surveillance-type work.

This raises serious questions:

• Why was our HOA board using a people-tracking service?
   
• Who were they looking up?
   
• What was the justification?
   
• And most importantly — was this an appropriate or ethical use of our community’s money?
   

We deserve transparency. The use of CFK PeopleFinders by those entrusted to serve our neighborhood needs to be examined. This isn’t just about dollars and cents — it’s about the abuse of power and the potential invasion of privacy of residents.
